President's Message,
November 2002 Approximately one and a half months ago, I was in Bali enjoying the beautiful beaches, sunshine, friendly people, and great food. I met with tourists from all around the world, mainly Italians, Germans, Japanese, and Australians, very few Americans. All of that has changed with the most recent terrorist attack on the Sari nightclub in Bali where many people lost their lives and clearly had no idea what was about to occur. The pictures of the dead and mutilated bodies shocked the world. Bali can never be the same. The world is in constant flux, and not always for the better. I want to thank Greg McConnell who traveled from Sacramento to speak at the October general meeting. His insights and comments were quite informative and he spoke to a standing room only audience. Thank you, Mr. McConnell. There will not be a December meeting, but instead we will have our Annual Holiday Party at the Gitlen Law Building on December 6, 2002, and all members of ACTION are invited. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend the party. Remember, even if you have not paid your annual dues, as a property owner, we consider you a member of ACTION, the only organization in Santa Monica solely dedicated to assisting Santa Monica property owners and preserving property owner rights. |
