President's Message, February 2004
By Gordon P. Gitlen, Esq., Action President

We started out the New Year with our January membership meeting that featured Jim Jacobson, Carl Lambert, Rosario Perry, and Wes Wellman and the undersigned, discussing current legislation and its effects as a result of laws that became effective January 1, 2004. If you have any questions about these new laws, please call the office and, of course, make sure that you are using current forms. Do not use old 3-day Notice forms and do not use old Rental Agreement forms. The new forms are available at the ACTION office.

Throughout these winter months, the flu has been quite prevalent amongst many of our members, which causes an interesting commentary for all of us. In the legal profession, our goal is to solve the client’s legal problem whatever that may be in order to allow our client’s financial stability to continue to prosper and grow within the law. In this pursuit, there are many conflicts that must be resolved. Conflicts with the opposing party, conflicts with the opposing attorney, conflicts with the court system and, of course, the inevitable conflict is that if you take a case to court and obtain a judgment, then you must collect the judgment. However, in the medical profession all personnel are dedicated to solving the patient’s problem and there are no apparent conflicts amongst the participants. The only conflict is with nature and God. So, we, at ACTION, hope that all of you have a healthy and prosperous New Year, resolve all conflicts favorably and, of course, allow ACTION to be of assistance to you.

Please join us at the next monthly meeting for answers to your questions and interesting presentations by our featured speakers. ACTION continues a referral service for repair/contractors, membership services, credit checks, etc. See you at the next meeting.
